This is a problem for me as well. Ubuntu 9.04, Evolution 2.26.1. Add a Google Calendar by any method (google, web, or CalDAV, though I find that CalDAV works the best overall, see bug 183846). Create an event in google's web interface. Once it syncs down to evolution there is no way to have a local alarm for it.
I'm actually not so sure if the alarm set in Google should sync down, as Roberto suggests -- this can be a problem for meetings, etc, with multiple invitees. Not everybody wants to be subject to the alarm set by the creator of the event (there was a long conversation about this somewhere for sunbird). But with no local alarm whatsoever I am missing meetings left and right. In Apple iCal you can set a local alarm on a synced event, which is what I think Evolution should ideally allow for. Right now the "Alarm" button is disabled for events not created directly in evolution. -- sync with google calendar loose alarm notification https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377246 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
