I experience exactly the same problem. I upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid
beta and have this issue too. Any help appreciated, I don't want to
reinstall the whole system (though this seems to help when believing
similar reports over the internet). Some encountered reinstalling

of gst-plugins-good0.10. I'll ask Seb to check and correct this.

Did as upstream suggested: when not viewing in continuous mode, evince indeed
jumps to the correct page. This bug can be closed/marked invalid, thanks for
your help.
Will remind myself of this when giving presentations made with LaTeX ‘beamer’
