I also had this terminal problem
I guess there's more to it after this update i can't use the shift key
and the scroll side of the my trackpad does not work anymore and i can
tap click also my french canadian keyboard revert back to US english. if

just a note about the progress of this bug on my system ; Dell Precision M4300
(Dual 64bits + nVIDIA Quaddro FX360M, Gutsy 32bits installed from tribe5 liveCD
then regulars dist-upgrade ; nvidia-glx-new installed and working; compiz
enabled)
I didn't encounter any font size problem since in

one, only I haven't seen the big window.
A program called geany (a general IDE) can open a terminal and has the same
problem there
I installed xterm in stead, as a work around.

A recent upgrade (within the last two weeks) had the same effect for me. I
fixed it by reinstalling openoffice.org:

Confirming that Hendrick's fix works. I used the deskbar to start an
xterm and typed the command. There's probably a way to do that from the
apps menu, too.

Confirming this, got it also. Happened with last updates for gutsy. I'm
on i386 though.
The window is much smaller than usual, with a really small cursor, that
moves but doesn't print anything. Changing font etc in preferences does
nothing. Will post screenshot.

how did you fix your terminal Font from being so small,
after the gutsy upgrade of a few hours ago, my screen fonts are all fine on
all programs except my terminal program
were the font is tiny i cannot see the text at all.

int type it'll break, could you rather gconftool-2 --unset

Can confirm the bug, even with some repercussions on: avant window navigator
and OpenOffice.org 2.3
Avant will load, but it will stick to the top left corner of my screen (looks
