I don't think so. When I access the /gallery_remote2.php page in the
browser it opens without asking for any password.
I didn't mention it before, but the gallery is based on the Drupal
module image_pub which is supposed to be compatible with Gallery Remote.
But even if it isn't, I don't think the
gsmart mini 2 isn't working on intrepid with all updates.
I had to manually unmount it, and reload gspca in order to make it work.
$ gvfs-mount --unmount-scheme gphoto2
$ sudo /sbin/modprobe -vr gspca-sunplus
$ sudo /sbin/modprobe -v gspca-sunplus
that worked for me

Removed erroneous marking as duplicate. If you inspect the last few
comments of bug 307306, you will see that this issue was deliberately
split from that bug as being a separate issue.

upgrade to 2:1.2.99.2-0ubuntu1 makes session utterly slow
I did a bit more checking, and I have another laptop in which everything
works just fine. The difference is that the one that works was
installed from a bare drive and the other one was upgraded from 8.04
which was upgraded from the release before that, etc.

First round of debugging on Till's computer: This works in the guest
session, but not in his account. Also, gnome-settings-daemon --no-daemon
--debug doesn't tell anything about handling key shortcuts (even if it
works).
Needs gdb debug session.

This crash bug is fixed with latest gvfs update. However, my camera
still appears as 4 different devices in gvfs. I'll post this as a
seperate bug report if it's not already reported in launchpad.
