I tested more on Hardy with your gthumb version. Funny enough I could
not reproduce with your jpeg, but when I converted your pnm to a jpeg,
gthumb crashed with this new jpeg. I could see from your gdb log what
could go wrong, but I needed to make an unoptimized build to verify it.

Same thing here on a HP Paviliion 6870eg.
Wenn I unplug the power cord, brightness decreases. When I plug the cord in,
the brightness increases.
I can't neither controll the brightness with the fn keys nor the brightness
applet. Also the OSD doesn't show up.
The other fn keys work just fine.

I don't know in what update things has been fixed but for about one week
ago things startet working for me, on all my computers, with rhythmbox
to connect to gvfs file shares.
Btw, I use Ubuntu Intrepid ;)

I just thought that as Hardy is still supported (and will be till 2011 -
it's an LTS release) a patch should be applied. Or am I wrong as it's

I created a very small and simple SVG using Open Office Draw (see
attachment). When Image Viewer tries to open it it quickly claims the
remaining 1 gig of RAM and the system load quickly reaches 100% grinding
everything to a halt (alt-ctrl-backspace time).
