I've got the same problem as Khorne describes, and many other people.
This should be a critical bug and a fix put out pdq because NUBE's are
throwing Ubuntu away when they experience their first hassle before even
getting to their desktop.

The F-spot suffers in normal mode too .
After few minutes, like screensaver time, it freeeze in bw screen with colour

I cannot confirm this bug on latest Ubuntu Gutsy release. Gdm doesn't
accept the wrong passwords, I tested 10 differents passwords with non-
ascii characters. The password I used for the accound was pippoo,
because pippo is a too short password, it is not accepted.
