Very strange... it looks like it is linked to whether I am on a docking
station or not (ie. multi monitors). I can not replicate this at home
when not docked, whether I am using my xorg.conf or auto-detect.
I will have to come back to this on Friday when I'm back in the office.

The attached jpeg file doesn't work as as cover if placed in a music album
folder and named 'Folder.jpg' or 'folder.jpeg' or 'cover.jpg'.

2)Put "xcompmgr -c -r 10 -o .50 -l -15 -t -15" into startup programs
3)Ctrl-Alt-Backspace
4)Test - doesn't work
5)Install new package, Ctrl-Alt-Backspace
6)Test - works
Xnest has always worked for me, both from other systems and from Gutsy
systems - it is broken when connecting by selecting XDMCP from the GDM
screen, rather than a nested session. It seems to me that during
connection establishment, the remote Gutsy GDM now sends a response that
the local GDM (no m

The problem occurs when the user attempts to change their password to
one that is not complex enough. I haven't gotten into the code but it
seems there is an expect script or something of the sort that is waiting
for passwd to come back with success.

I've disabled system sounds in audio settings, I've disabled the system
bell and the accessibility modules in gdmsetup but if one of those
accessibility sounds are ticked (even if "(none)" is selected), I get
system sound output. You shouldn't get an
I don't know why, but scince yesterday it works on my home machine. I can
connect from another machine (windowsxp with xming) to my gutsy gibbon. And
locally wiht Xnest :1 -query 127.0.0.1 works to. In booth cases i had the ugly
empty grey x-window with the x-cursor, now i see the login screen.
In the end it was so easy... disabled effects, then re-enabled them.
Still wasn't working so I went into Compiz general options and then into
desktop size and set it 4 and lo and behold I have a cube again!
Strangely enough this didn't work before.

After going to sleep while connected to a wireless network, when waking
up the machine in a location without that network available, the gnome
NetworkManager starts to use 100% of a cpu, and claims to still be

Just for testing: System -> Appearance -> Customize -> select clearlooks
for example , then select colors, and change the input boxes to some
weird color let's say green , it should change the color in the files
view also. Can you try these steps also with a new user? I don't think
the problem is

Pedro, this is not a bug in the theme. The problem is somewhere else and
I'm guessing Nautilus since every other application follows the selected
theme. Also, try using with the supplied High contrast inverse theme and
you will notice the same behaviour.
