I have the line

in my /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file but it doesn't seem to take effect.
When my window manager starts up the repeat rate is very slow. If I
run
xset r rate 170 30
after logging in
d and solved or a new one
(but with a web search on google it seems to be common to otehr people).
Again when you write that a bug is solved it's not clear for a reader
how the bug is solved.
Please, can someone help me?

Sorry, I have two difficulties to answer this question.
The least important: now I use Arch Linux on that machine, but I suppose
things should not be very different between different distros. I may say the
driver version and say that I have no xorg.conf in Arch.
The most important: I seldom have
-intel is 2.7.1-1, the version of hal is
0.5.12git20090421.4fc367-2, and I have no xorg.conf

The command `xset s reset` will reset the X server screensaver to
reset the timer for the screensaver and dpms. If the display is
already on, it should do nothing as far as the hardware goes. In the

xserver-xorg-video-radeon from Squeeze (that is 1:6.12.3-1) to Lenny,
mouse and keyboard do not work except Ctrl+Alt+F1, F2 and so on; I can
switch to the console and do everything there.
That means *the machine does not hang* and the bug must be in one of

both exhibit similar problems when running xmkmf (which in turn runs imake).
on the unstable machine, i get

the upgrade the keyboard isn't really
usable for Germans anymore, so I think Debian should provide a
solution to fix that. I don't think that we can expect every german
debian-user to know how to fix this issues. Maybe we could give them a

What about including a README about that in the package until things
become more clear. I would write one explaining the normal solution for
US-users (using the altwin:meta_win Option) and the changes I made
to make it working for geman users.

I wish it did. I spent a couple of days with the s3virge manpage trying
every possible combinition of variables I could think of, with no luck.

don't experience problems with the old (version 3) xserver.
