Hi again. I've setup an identical config on another machine, also with Nvida (but a different card, GeForce 8400 GS), and I don't have some of the problems I've reported before (discolored title bars, quanta crashing X). This leads me to believe that the proprietary nvidia driver is buggy for my older driver, and it isn't in fact a compiz or X problem, specifically.
