I am using a Debian system(2.4.20 kernel),P4 1.8 GHz
256 MB RAM/40 GB HDD and standard PS/2 keyboard and mouse.
My machine is shared by several users though I retain the root access.
Normally I don't shut down my machine.I just log off.

BTW: The backplane it is mounted in is ISA-only, and there are no additional

both Neverball and X have changed things.
We're now at:
neverball 1.3.1-1
xserver-xfree86 4.3.0.dfsg.1-5
X no longer segfaults. Instead, when I try to launch Neverball, X exits with
