I'm experimenting with preloading default values to debconf database.
Among others, I was playing with the question about method of display
configuration (simple/medium/advanced).
I wanted to preload answer "Simple", but still let user to change it.
So I preload the following:

The meta key stopped working after upgrading to XFree86 4.3. This is with
XkbOptions set to "altwin:left_meta_win, compose:menu". It used to work with
XFree86 4.2.x. The left windows-key was Meta.
When I remove the XkbOptions I can use left-Alt as
that checks upstream sources for the relevant -dev packages they
should depend on. It's available at

I didn't know xfs-xtt was outmoded and I had a reason in the past to prefer
it. I don't remember what it was, but it seems to be gone: I changed to xfs
and I'm satisfied with it.

xserver-xfree86 4.3.0-7 in testing. My card is a radeon 7500 and has a
DVI output. I use a dvi to vga adapter to connect to a Samsung NF900
