I have a Creative Anihilator 2 Ultra, with a P3 700
/ asus p3v4x.
I was trying to install debian 2.2 r2 from the
original distribution in this machine,
everything runs ok, but XFree 3.3.6 doesn't support
my video card (Geforce 2).
I tried selecting NVIDIA GeFORCE 256 and DDR but

Used apt-get install task-x-window-system heres what else i had to do.
dpkg --force-overwrite -i xbase-clients*
dpkg --force-overwrite -i xlibs*
debconf 0.5.49 would not setup, waiting for next version.
xserver-common depends on this.

I was getting the exact problem, couldn't fix it to save my life ... then I
patched my kernel up to 2.4.1pre10, and it works again. Also, I'm setting
agpgart and mga as modules in the kernel config ...
I'm also running sid, but for this it shouldn't matter.
