There are no kernel-sources > 2.6.32 in sid which Brice says I need. I
don't really want to go into experimental. I build my own kernels from
source in order to get the modules I need. Turning off KMS works fine
with 2.6.32 kernels.

I tried mga again with the new xserver-xorg 1:7.5 that just hit squeeze.
It made no difference.
It still just gives a black screen. It is a shame that the state of

I pointed my deb-src to lenny to get the old xserver-xorg-video-mga.
Then I did:
apt-get -b source xserver-xorg-video-mga
and
dpkg -i xserver-xorg-video-mga_1.4.9.dfsg-1_i386.deb
to install what was built. If that is what you mean by build against
the 1.6 server, then it
didn't change anything.
