I tried mga again with the new xserver-xorg 1:7.5 that just hit squeeze. It made no difference. It still just gives a black screen. It is a shame that the state of graphics cards in Linux is still in such bad shape. Especially when the mga driver used to work so well in Linux before the last two xorg versions. I also fight with my ATI radeon card in my laptop. Reverting to vesa on the matrox is just sad.
