commit 827e0c33c9307404a7fd71f7ae0a89bb11ca6b9a
I had similar problems with both 2:2.14.0-4 and 2:2.14.902-1 versions of
xserver-xorg-video-intel, but after downgrading to 2:2.13.0-6 from squeeze
everything seems to work fine.
My kernel is 2.6.38-2-686, the chipset is 915GM.

touchpad wrongly detected as multitouch leads to sync problems

Hi,
In regards to this bug, I have found similar reports in Arch Linux:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics#The_touchpad_isn.27t_working.2C_Xorg.0.log_shows_.22Query_no_Synaptics:_6003C8.22
and they have solved the issue.
The problem is that the evdev and synaptics modules g
rununtil you get it sorted out why...
there are program(s) to refresh vga text mode / save restore vesa. run
it and you'll have your text terminal.
note because VT depends on kernel etc you problem might depend on how
you start x, not just X drivers or a flaky video card

Ok, so after some investigation, I found that the segfault is not
caused by a video driver (it happens with binary nvidia driver too).
Commenting out Files and ServerFlags sections (i.e. disabling
font servers) removed the segfault.
Could you please move the bug to a more appropriate package?
