Please try version 1:0.0.16+git20110411+8378443-1 from unstable.  If the
problem persists, file a bug upstream (see
http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/Bugs for instructions).

As a workaround, you can disable acceleration.  E.g. boot with
nouveau.noaccel=1 or set the "NoAccel" option in xorg.conf (see
nouveau(4)).
