days, dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg doesn't create any
xorg.conf, just the directory /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d
and yes, it was useless to run it.
I tried to play with an old xorg.conf file, but anything I do, including
removing the file, doesn't solve the problem.

tried to use Linux as an NFS server for Solaris with mixed
results. For READONLY it works fine. For READ/WRITE it is unreliable
since the current Linux NFS server does not support locking.
You may want to investigate the new 2.2.pre NFS since it now claims to
