I wonder if it is possible to upgrade from slackware to debian, and
keep most of my system. Is there an easy way to do this, or should I
just fdisk the thing and start all over?
Any suggestions?

ced by the upgrade process, I think the old
file is copied as /etc/syslog.conf.dpkg-old (AFAIR).

bit around, but have so far been unsuccessful in finding any other
encoders.

You use the program X-CD-Roast for burning CDR's under Linux.

I noticed. That's what comes from using too many partitioning
tools... :(

And, AFAIK, the CDROM has to be on the primary IDE controller.

Can't you just add yourself to the log (or whatever) group, then?

I am currently setting up suck, and thought that batchmode would suit
perfectly, but that requires something called "innxmit". Does anyone
know if there's a debian package containing this somewhere?

Does anyone else use suck+inn to get news offline, in that case I
would be happy if anyone could drop me a hint on how. (If anyone uses
something else to do that, I would be happy to hear about that as
well... :)

You might also want to set the TERM variable to "xterm-color" if

Then behind each of these choices is a number og selected packages

Then tell the user that "if you want more control/configurability, you

recommend Afterstep, as it is easier to configure. It does, however,
take up a bunch of colours...
