I just downgraded my X packages to 3.3.2.2-1 to see if that would get
rid of a bug in some commercial software. X now refuses to start on my

libdb.so.1 is a symbolic link to libdb.so.1.85.1, which no longer exists
on your system. It is unlikely that you have anything that needs it,
since it's part of the a.out libraries.
Delete libdb.so.1 as well and the whole problem will go away.

You haven't got room on this disk for all those Windows programs as well

partition, you must make boot=/dev/hda (1st IDE drive) or /dev/sda (first
SCSI drive), whichever holds the C: partition.

than that, try upgrading it again.

In shell script, use trap to catch a signal and do something before exit
(or just ignore it completely). You can
sed in character windows or outside X. It has
the further benefit (to my mind) that it makes each messge a separate file,
so that it is easy to find and handle messages with non-mail commands.
For example, if someone has mailed a patch:
`patch -p1 <~/Mail/postgresql/hackers/28'
