Running Debian Woody and XFree86 v4.0.1 and trying to get TrueType fonts
under X. I've followed the instructions fully, I believe, but still no
TT fonts. I finally ran across this error:

Well, for some stupid reason, I decided to give the Gnome packages from Helix a
try. After re-starting X-Windows, I noticed that my Eterms don't have
scrollbars and scroll-arrows. My first assumption is that it's related to
Helix's version of the various imlib packages. Now though, I can't remov
nd couldn't load it via modconf. I ended up compiling a custom
kernel and it works fine now.

realize that you can. If you can, type the executable for IceWM and hit

I just upgraded my kernel to 2.4.0 with no apparent problems... I did notice on
bootup some messages that scroll by far too quickly to read that I wanted to
take another look at. I think they just have something to do with my CD-ROM
drives (possibly because there's no discs in them).

With PPPoE, from what I've read, the "ideal" MTU setting is actually
1492.
For what it's worth, I did try the Roaring Penguin with no problems. I
have a Linksys router that handles PPPoE for
reating
an image or ISO file ?? I understand it may not be the case with you and
where you live, but here in the States, blank CDs are approx $0.50 each.
If I make a coaster, it's no big deal.
