and mounting a dos disk is rather simple:
mount -t vfat /dev/hdc1 /mnt
would mount the first partition of the secondary master drive. use
/dev/sda1 to access the first partition on the first SCSI disk.

Hi,
I know they're used to be quakeforge packages but i don't know if
they're even still in unstable (and they might be in the contrib
section?). But i would suggest just grabbing the sources from CVS at
quakeforge.net as it changes pretty often.

Hello:
I was unable to get mozilla to run. It did not complain when I attempted to
launch from an xterm, nor did it run. I finally decided to remove mozilla
and its parts and reinstall it. That is where I ran into problems. During

Hi folks, I'm pretty new to the Linux world and I need some help
configuring Debian (3.0r0). I've used RedHat 8 with the 2.4 kernel and
had no problems, but I was looking for a more lean distro and decided to

If you are using a pretty generic kernel, i.e. you haven't recompiled, you
should be able to apt-get a kernel upgrade. If not, you need to pull down
the kernel source and just build yourself a new kernel. I did it the other
day and believe me, if I can do it, anyone can!!

Hi everyone. I've been using Debian (potato) since r0, and have always
loved it. The lists always had the answers to all my questions and i was
happy. Now, a $10 PII266 compaq deskpro 4000 fell in my lap. After
throughing a matrox mistique 220 video card in i did a net install of
woody. none o

hey matt,
i feel your pain for X. i've done lots of installations for all kinds
of different machines and people, and the only consistant hitch
has been getting X going. and in most cases, it's because of the
video card being nvidia (when the machine is i386 anyways). it's not
that hard to get

the hosts.allow file...that's the first thing i thought of. so i
compared it aginst my working potato system. they're both the exactly
the same. if memory servers me hosts.deny has all.parinoid and
hosts.allow is blank. t
