I've had similar problems on a TNT2, GeForce2 MX, and GeForce3
As Brian Clark already suggested, I'd have to agree
with mailman. I can't comment on any of the other
list programs as I haven't used any of them. I've
been running mailman and haven't felt the need to
explore any other options.

HISTFILE. HISTFILESIZE, & HISTSIZE are all set.
What have i done? This is apparent in my user login, commands as
root are still recorded.

Typically, a shell session works OK, but vi, vim, and less have problems

For years now I've used fetchmail to get mail and now its suddenly stopped

What happens is that fetchmail seems to freeze instead of flushing the

all efforts to apt-get upgrade aor install new packages fail due to a
problem setting up console-common. the error message is below. I've tried
setting the warning levels in Debconf at low to see a more helpful message.

Did you
It sounds like you're set to download only unread messages and these 11
have been marked as read even though the initial download didn't complete.
Try running a session explicitly telling fetchmail to get all messages.
I'm in Windows hell right now, so I can't tell you how to do that.

I'm not sure but since 2.4.15 (I think) all new kernels in 2.4.x series
are just bug fixes.

Why are there ncpfs version 2.2.0.19 packages in the debian tree but
only the 2.2.0.18 packages are installed using apt? This is both on
unstable and woody.

I am trying to set up a diskless workstation (to centralize maintainance) but
am having problems getting X sessions to work.
The system boots (from a floppy, then mounts root and /usr seperately over
nfs), and I can login and work from a text console. The xdm login appears, but
