why do you run lpd from a command line? lpd is already running, use 'lpr' to
print
do this
cp /var/tmp/printcap /etc/printcap
/etc/init.d/lprng stop
/etc/init.d/lprng start

lpr /etc/group

I tried what you suggest, but it still not print, so I use lpq to see whats wrong by following:

progeny:/home/fsshl# lpr xfree
progeny:/home/fsshl# lpq
Printer: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 'HP Laserjet 4L'
Queue: 1 printable job
Server: pid 3378 active
Unspooler: pid 3385 active
