Exim refuse to deliver to root so you need to have

I have a small network at home. I have two NIC cards in my Debian
machine, a single NIC in my windows machine and a cross over cable
linking the two machines. I can successfully telnet from my windows
machine to my Debian machine but i can't ftp from my windows machine to
my Debian machine
i guess some things got mixed up here, if your not able to telnet from
debian to windows this is because there is no telnet service running, if
you're running some kind of service (www,ftp) on your windows machine try to
telnet to one of these ports, a few ports you could try are 135, 138, 139

do you have the ftp daemon installed? You can do this with:
apt-get install ftpd
You can look which ports are opened:
nmap localhost
and look for the ftp port. If it is there, all should work.

Which Kernel and which version of the Kernel? If kernel 2.4.x and
ppp < 2.4 you should upgrade ppp. See [1] where to find this package
recompiled for potato.

Didn't you say that you had ntp installed? It corrects the clock when you

Does anybody have any idea what has happened to this list? I haven't

You won't find all you need on the CDs because the netscape executable
is in non-free. Edit your /etc/apt/sources.list to include one of the
Debian mirrors and specify non-free in addition to main and contrib.

The problem was actually in Apache. It didn't install completely. I went into
the httpd.conf, and all that was in there was just the modules, no other config
info. The srm was completely blank. I removed both apache and jserv. The I
just installed apache, once it was configured and running,
Well i don't run gpm, but what looks like gpm's white-cursor-block

I have a an annoying wierd little problem that has been vexing me
sorely. I have lost the use of the mouse in Midnight Commander when
using the command line interface (i. e. outside of X). The funny thing
is that it works under an X-term or E-term window in X. It happened

When I look up the package in dselect is shows:
