I suggest you use the latest stable kernel with the raid0.90 patches which
can be downloaded from http://people.redhat.com/mingo/raid-patches
You will need to use the raidtools2 package instead of raidtools or
mdutils. You can put everything on raid1 even root, if you want.
I have not looked in the recent past but have they cleared up the buffer
overflow problems with Pine? If not you might be better off with something
else. To try and answer the question have you tried
apt-get install pine ?
Should work like a charm.
-- Original Message ---
You need to install the pine4-diffs package as well. It contains the
patches and the dsc file, as well as the debian-package configuration
files. You also will need libc-client4.7 and libc-client4.7-dev, and
libncurses5-dev packages.
After you have installed both, switch into /usr/src/pine4.

Hi, Eileen -
Unpack the source w/ :
dpkg-source -x pine4_4.21-1.dsc
(make sure you have dpkg-dev installed for this.)
Then cd into pine_4.21, where you run :
debian/rules binary
cd back to /usr/src/pine4
Then run:
dpkg -i pine_4.21-1_i386.deb
This should do the trick.
Hope it helps...

Is there such a thing as a console-only MP3 player for Debian? I spend a lot of
time in Command Line lately, and I don't want to start X just to play a MP3.
Thanks !

This is not quite accurate.
The ext2fs default is to reserve some number of blocks -- 10% of total,
IIRC -- for root access only. Th

Don't Fear the Penguin.
dhclient periodically appends a literal "\000" to the search
domain in resolv.conf. This happens with Woody and an NT4.5
server, and Potato with a Win2K server.
Have others run into this?
