Hello!
After boot-up, but before log-in, comes a warning window with the following
message:

At first, I was getting a small square window with a large lightbulb. It

I created my .xsession file long ago, before emacspeak was my desktop.
I don't remember there being a problem with rxvt, though.
So, I added the xrdb line in the .xsession script and all went fine.
Actually, I mv the .xsession in $HOME and restarted

X resources are stored in the X server. When the X server is
started, there are none set; when it is reset, they are cleared.
The program xrdb is responsible for setting them. It shou

I do see the emacs and rxvt stuff , and if I exit emacs and rxvt and
start them up again, things are fine.
I can't think of anything else, though.

I am using fvwm with no dm. I have been working on this problem for a
while and cannot seem to get it sorted. I have the line:
xrdb ~/.Xdefaults
in my .xinitrc file. The settings in there, however, are not being read
as I think they should. I have, in my .fvwm2rc file lines that start

but I only get blank (textured) screen and X mouse cursor (initially in
centre of screen, then follows windows mouse cursor around when that enters

When I run vncserver it says:

hello,
i have an xrdb -load line in my .xsession which loads some xterm
resources from a file. The .xsession then spawns the wm [rat poison] and
an xterm. The xterm spawned by .xsession has the correct resources but if
i use ratpoison to start a new xterm it has the default resources.

Hello Everybody,
I have put some things in a file .Xdefaults. I know that in order to make
these settings active I have to do
"xrdb .Xdefaults". This is no problem. The problem is that I want this
command to be executed automatically
when I login in a gnome session.

Hello all,
I am having a problem with getting xrdb to work. Since xrdb is broken, several

Hello all,
another extra: on some machines (not all - weird) xrdb needs

otherwise it will die miserably complaining about being unable to
