I'm now running debian from a machine with the following spec:
P4 2.6Ghz HT, Intel 865GBF motherboard with 6 PCI slots, 256MB dram. The
kern log (attached) is complaining about PCI and ide0.
Can anyone please help to explain that ?

Thanks for the response to my query. I have not done the upgrade yet.
Perhaps I should let you folks know why I want to upgrade.
1) I have been working on 'stable' for more than a month now. I notice the
packages are ratther old. The kernel is 2.2.20, xfree86 is 4.1. etc.

create a 'testing' CDROM?

I intend to upgrade fr 'stable' to 'testing' using jigdo CD. In Window I
download the jigdo file, extract the files and execute jigdo-lite. After I
entered the URL I get the msg:
"jigdotemplate/sarge-i386-template ."

On-screen keyboard problem solved. The mistake is to invoke it from xterm.
Need to create a menu entry as a file in one of the menu directories. Then
run update-menus. Xvkbd will appear as a menu item and will be launched with
a click of the mouse.

the CD .iso file as a filesystem. I then select 'filesystem' as a
