Hi all,
i just cannot get sound working on my machine. I have installed alsa and
run alsaconf. But if i try 'speaker-test' or 'cat /dev/urandom >
/dev/audio', i just don't get any sound. I have attached several outputs
below so that somebody else might be able to figure out what is wrong.

Just avoid ATI graphics cards, and nVidia as well (tho it's not as bad).
Integrated Intel graphics is often the best choice (best support under
GNU/Linux, best battery life as well).

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a new Debian Etch user. I've
switched from Kubuntu since I read about the new partnership of Ubuntu
and Linspire. While I think the merging of the systems might be a good

Actually - mutt does the same thing - when message is deleted,
it's marked as deleted and not actually deleted. Check man muttr

An astrolog.dat file should have been included with the debian astrolog
package and wasn't. It could have been put in /usr/share/astrolog. The
ephemeris files located in ephemall.zip could have joined that
astrolog.dat file in /usr/share/astrolog as well but didn't. No matter I
