I have been running samba on a debian woody based server for a long time
now as a PDC. Today, I finally ran into a problem where samba stopped
responding and the only way I found to fix it was to do a 'killall smbd'
and let the processes re-spawn. Well, a couple hours later, the problem
came back

Cheers,

It emphasizes that if Debian were to disappear this box becomes a
wastepaper basket and programming ends.

No; see my previous message. gcc 3.3.2 is stricter than 2.95.4, but
correctly so.

Robert,
Your message does help. It reinforces my claim that the problem is gcc 3.3.2. I have
independantly
verified it by compiling using gcc 2.95.4 and yes it compiles as expected.

I changed gcc from 3.3.2 version to 2.95.4 and everything compiles well. So, now I

How the heck do I turn off syntax highlighting for PHP-mode under
xemacs (I'm running debian unstable, xemacs21). Nothing seems to
work. I have font-lock disabled for every other mode, but not php.
Shouldn't:

work?

Yes, that's nice. And I see there's been some changes, too.

Hi!
I am running woody+gnome2.2(Jamie Strandboge's backport). After doing
an apt-get dist-upgrade I faced with a problem which dpkg suggested to
correct using the -f options. But I still have a problem with xlibs.
Here follows the output:
nostromo:/home/chiappa# apt-get -u -f dist-upgrade

Hey Debian fans,
I'm having a problem with my mouse in X. I'm using a Microsoft
Intellimouse 3.0 (the one with the small buttons on the side). I have
two machines with this mouse, both using the USB interface, and only one
of the machines has this issue, though they're both using identical

I noticed this morning that sb_filter.py was failing because of some
DB-related error. It may have been failing for a while, I'm not sure.
I thought I might have dropped some DBM-related Python package by mistake,
so I attempted to install python-gdbm. That exhibited an error too:
