the
new maintainer can sort through the patches and the new maintainer can
work with you to get the appropriate patches applied.

Technically I'm not an MIA DD, I'm retired, but same difference. :-)

now.

Debian-QA,
Joey has a good point. Perhaps if QA had a better organizational
structure we could be more active in conducting testing of this scale.
The efforts I've seen over the past six months seem to have stalled.

I look forward to getting this moving after the holidays or as time allows.

This was discussed on the debian-qa list previously and has been in
process for awhile. I think we already have consensus.

Anthony, this might tie in well somehow with the freeze.
Suggestions?

Hi there, I was just curious about how long it takes to set up a mail
list. I know it's the holidays and all, but there isn't any status
in this bug after a a full month.
Thanks,

ry to understand what
issues people are having. Ultimately, it's the users that benefit from the
work done in QA.
In this project, QA can even be seen as "free support." Care needs to be
taken in how this reality is presented, but I think it's true.

to understand them fully.
I am a bit surprised I didn't find these definitions clearly spelled out
in the developers-reference. Section 9 goes over the process, but
doesn't have a chart of definitions as the web page does.
I also just noticed that the web page needs
developers and QA/users
perspective. Much has been done for gathering collective input from
developers and policy, but less so within the various Debian functions
to gather and use input from "very much less experienced
developer/users" and (gasp) even non-technical users.
If Debian is increasingly successful, there will be more and more of
these non-techies interested in Debian. QA may be a good place to
establish more of a voice for this.

I hope you are able to get the help you need in updating this package and
the development resources to improve it. I am not sure what I can do to
help, but if you posted a wishlist somewhere I and others might be able to
assist somehow.
