Hi
Is it now safe to upgrade a PowerBook 5,4 to xorg 6.9.0-dfsg-1.4?
Video card is ATI Mobility Radeon M10
Is it necessary to disable DRI to prevent lockups?
Cheers

If you want to upgrade to Xorg, change your apt-get sources
(/etc/apt/sources.list) from sarge to unstable and run apt-get update &&
apt-get dist-upgrade.
Note this will upgrade all packages from the stable sarge release to the
newest versions which have not been as thoroughly tested. Make sure yo

After modprobing i2c-dev, you need to /etc/init.d/pbbuttonsd restart too...
If you run powerprefs you should see that the Keyboard Illumination
tabs are activated. If the tabs are greyed out it means pbbuttonsd
doesn't see that you have a backlight available.
It might be worth checking your k

Hey there
Does anybody know whether or not there might be any adverse impacts of
running macchanger to alter the MAC address of the network interface in
a new Powerbook G4?
Is this a firmware level change? How does macchanger work?
Cheers

Hi
I'm a new member of this list.
I recently got sarge up and running on my 2004 G4 PowerBook.
Most of the hardware seems to be working OK - but has anyone got DRI/3D
hardware acceleration working on the ATI Mobility Radeon 9700?
