There's no support for it yet. You may be able to use it as /dev/fb1 by
setting it up in MacOS and then using "novideo" but I never tried.

I'm encountering the same issue on my PowerMac 7200. I tried the
boot-floppy-hfs.img from 7/20 & 7/17. The 7/17 one would just spit
back out. The 7/20 one gave me the computer+penguin icon for awhile
and then goes to a blank screen.
I made the floppies using DiskCopy 6.3.3
I also ran into
I've got the desktop version of this computer (including the same
cd-rw drive). I only have 128mb of memory. I had it running
LinuxPPC 2000 with GNOME so I imagine Debian will run. I did not
burn any cd's on it so can't comment if the cd-rw worked correctly
(it did work as a cd reader).

level of support Linux has for this hardware?

What util does xfree86 use for configuring X on powermac?
I at least want to know how to have a nice res without ANY virtual screen
space (I find that to be very annoying). I have like a matrox 200 with 4
megs of ram or something, so I know I can do at least something decent.

G4. But I don't manage to boot from the CD-image. I tried to boot it
with yaboot, but I was not able to load the ramdisk image. Did anyone
manage to solve this problem?

a better choice). Is your video card being recognized at boot? If you are

I believe the auto-config programs found in LinuxPPC are not packaged for
Debian. They make some RedHat assumptions about file locations, so they
won't run out of the box on a Debian system, and no one I know of has
ported them.

This is how I got Debian to install on my PowerMac 7200/75. This
computer is pretty much the factory setup. It has 24mb memory & a
