XFree86 v4's configuration tool is broken right now on PPC. I think I saw someone had created a basic script to get it to work, but AFAIK you still have to do some config file editing. It's pretty easy, as you no longer have to edit any mode-lines or anything like that. Just specify devices, and the resolution. The log file should tell you what resolutions are out of range.
