I'm trying to get this RS/6000 (see subject) to install debian powerpc
linux. I have gotten the bootp / tftp system setup but I have not been
able to locate a bootable kernel image to continue the installation.
Anyone know which image I should use or had any luck on this type of
system?

Oops, I was wrong ith the last mail - the new and correct driver is
sym53c8xx in 2.6 and sym53c8xx_2 in later 2.4 kernels.

Yes, recent 2.6 kernels are known to not boot on this specific PReP
machine. It's a known problem but nothing has been done - I myself
haven't had enough time to dig
