I bet the problem is a warning or error from debconf. apt does
not use perl.

Here is the lasest output of apt-get update && apt-get upgrade. It seems
to be complaining about a Perl script, and will not go through with the
upgrade. This seems serious; how can I fix this? I have tried running
apt-get --reinstall on perl, perl-base and dpkg with no luck.

It was a dependency error, which I believe arises because dpkg fails on
perl-base

Hi!
I´ve Problems with Perl in Sid ...
perl-base can´t be installed
perl: Depends: perl-base (= 5.6.1-2) but 5.6.0-21 is installed
Depends: perl-modules (= 5.6.1-2) but it is not installed
In i386 there are newer packages ... 5.6.1-3)
I can´t compile from source because dpkg-dev can
and the possibility
to switch perls did help with one problem. At least I know what I
changed and so it shouldn't pose a problem, especiall since I am now on
5.6 as was intended.

I've thought for a while that a debian package for building .debs from
CPAN modules would be cool. Since there

Hi!
The current woody is borken regarding perl5.6: most packages are still
5.005, so 5.6 programs usually won't work since there are not enough
packages for basic tasks. So some programs barf if your perl 5.6 is your
