I used to use my G3/800 12 inch laptop with no problems, but for some
time it has problems with sleep and alsa.
Sleep problem is that after a reboot for the first time I can put a
laptop to sleep with no problem just by closing the lid. But I can do it
only once - next time it will not go for a sl

I had this problem since i ve decided to use alsa
You con try to play with Buffer time and period time in the advanced
settings of the alsa driver configuration (Preferences/Audio I/O plugins...)
I Currently have Buffer time=800 ms and Period Time 100ms And it works
Don t ask me why but

Hi all,
I'm using Linux 2.6.0-ben1 but have problems with alsa. I did what I
read on this list, i.e. put a file in /etc/modprobe.d to load the
modules in the correct order, and so on. I've configured alsa-base the
right way, I think. Here are my problems.
When I plug headphones, the sound's muted
I did compile the lib from the alsa sources and it worked.

I've got this same problem, I'm not using devfs though. Looks like it's
just a bug in alsa and or the alsa libs - it seems they've changed the
control device naming from pcmCXDXc to controlCx and some applications
are still expecting the old naming system.

Thanks for the advise. I got alsa base to stop crying and the modules to

Hello-
I'm having some trouble getting ALSA up on a fresh install (uname -r
2.4.18-newpmac).
I've been following the instructions at->
http://www.linuxorbit.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=541
and am fine until I try to install the .deb of alsa-mo
I believe you may not have created the device files for also. There is
some script, named snddevices I believe, that must be run by the root
user to create the necessary device files. You should be able to find
it in the source that you compiled alsa-driver from.
That would be my first suspi
Hi,
I'm having some problems getting alsa to work on my iBook. I have compiled
and installed alsa-driver-0.9.0rc7 and the relevant alsa packages from woody.
After booting the machine the following modules are loaded:
i2c-keywest 7536 0 (autoclean) (unused)
snd-powermac 3
Is anyone else seeing this with the alsa 0.9 in current debian ppc
sid? I find that I get...
