Try adding testing sources and then apt-get update and then only the -t
testing line. no need to modify apt.conf.
Super! That got that, BUT something is still off :(
I tried to executed dpkg-buildpackage inside /usr/local/src/ and

apt-get source -t testing kernel-patch-2.4.22-powerpc
No go :( from what I just read in the man it should though!
Should I maybe change my source.list to include testing and add
APT:Default-Release {"testing" ;}; to apt.conf until I have the patch,
and then change it back, or am I asking for
# apt-get source kernel-patch-2.4.22-powerpc
and build that with dpkg-buildpackage.
# apt-get source kernel-patch-2.4.22-powerpc

Also, i would be interested in the reasons for you doing a custom

First I should say, that I'm very new to Debian (and Linux) so please
feel free tell me, if I'm going in the completely wrong direction ;)

Hi,
I'm trying to set up a transparent bridge firewall. Everything seems to
work fine, i.e. network traffic is bridged transparently and the
firewall drops everything unwanted, but I get enormous amounts of
kernel messages dumped to the screen (all ttys) and the logs.
The problem persists if

I just finished building my beautiful bridge firewall, and it _seems_
to work perfectly!
However, always after "up"ing the bridge with ifconfig I get massive
amounts of screen output to EVERY local tty, thus disrupting my local
command line interface.
This output starts by telling my that th

Currently I'm running my own custom 2.4.18 kernel, but on

Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
Yup! At least I think I may, since I had the exact problem on a 7500 an
got it fixed. You most probably need to work with the settings in the
open firmware (OF) and in quik.config.
However, getting your 6500 to do exactly what you want is not straight

"original" nvram default settings. But then again you may not need
them... you need the ones that work ;)

Christian,

I have the same problem, and I'm sure others out there do too.
