It has firmware 03.03.09 copyright Firmworks.
If it doesn't lie, it is a prep machine.
I made all the stuff for netbooting (dhcd, tftp and so on).Seems OK.
I am loading vmlinuz-prep.initrd ("load net") and the firmware a

I got it!
I saw that the boot partition on IBM hardware MUST be raw.
From partman or cfdisk, it was not (ext2).
I made it raw with mkofboot and a fake yaboot.conf first.
Then yabootconf then ybin and pray...
And it worked fine.
Thanks to all for help.
I am ready to test your future iso imag

Hello!
After searching the archives, I found from Sven Luther that
1) diskette is not supported now on chrp-rs6k boxes.
2) shoul be ok whith cdrom from sarge-powerpc-netinst.iso
So I made the cdrom and tried to boot via open firmware.
I suppose I must launch yaboot then I typed
boot cdrom;:\in
I have the same configuration as Johan (IBM 43P-150, a true CHRP one).
I burned the netinst.iso as suggested and tried to boot it ( OF>boot cdrom)
OF says "unrecognized Client program format state not valid"
should it be a bug to report ?
Friendly
Felipe.
