way for them to "cheat" at open source.

this is the first ppc machine I've installed and run Debian on.

You and Michel have been most helpful, if I run into either of you at

Ooops, that should be "XFree86 4.x requires...".

some kind soul supply me with the setting in .Xauthority that will allow
that?
(possibly a Michel Dänzer question)

After I get my airport module, I think I need to add my network wireless
network name as an argument when the module loads, correct?
Thanks for all your help Michel!

.linuxcare.com::linux-pmac-devel and it is in there.
penguinppc.org::linux-2.4-paulus still didn't have it as of a few minutes ago.
I'm sure it will when it rsyncs with ppc.linuxcare.com::linux-pmac-devel.

not bad with Linux, I would really prefer
256mb, it makes a big difference. If I can get the airport working, and have
the memory, I'm getting close to the promised land...;-)

Maybe it's a good time to think about switching to VI to do all my

Michel,
I grabbed the linux-pmac-devel tree from paulus, but not sure how to get the
airport built in there. I don't see an option for the airport.
Are you rsyncin' a different tree than lin
riend's. If I need to attend a meeting at work I've been using MacOS9
running an ssh terminal to a linux box and can get most all of my work done
that way during a meeting, hoping to get the airport going on ppc linux soon
though...gonna go look at that now...;-)

uld be some specs on it somewhere, even if
it's with the OEM that Apple gets the TFTs from. I'll let you know if I hear
anything.
Most of the Mac bigots I work will respond with, "why do you need to know
that, Mac OS doesn't need it, everything works fine...".

is what the spec is for this TFT? I left it with your
numbers for now and it looks the same as it did with the hard coded numbers
(i.e., 31.5h/78.7v), but I would like to see what the actual spec is for the
TFT. Is there a place online that would have that on Apple's site?

s, like HorizSync 31.5 - 48.5 and VertRefresh 50-70, but
it didn't like that at all.
What are others using on a Pismo? (since this thread was originally for an

mpiler revs? Both seem to run fine on
the target, but size is different.
Due to my ignorance in differences between a G3 and G4, I would certainly opt
to compile the G4 on the native processor given the problems I've seen on
getting ppc linux to run on the G4 Titanium anyway, call me old fashioned...

Thanks for the info Steve, I'll dig around the linuxppc-dev list and s

It was pretty painful getting Debian going on the PowerBook, and getting
