The assembler used does not support x86_64. Check the binutils build,
and run the cross-assembler with --version.
If the cross-assembler is okay, maybe the wrong one is used by xgcc.
There's an option to gcc I think to print what commands it uses.

Can't find X Server means that XWindows didn't start up probably.
There's a lot of causes, wrong install, etc
I also had problems starting X in the beginning when I installed sarge,

My passion is towards emulation, and was totally overtaken by the
plethora of them available to unix/linux and the ones I have looked at
