As a comment, I prefer a heavy modular kernel (like the x86 .deb ones)

I have prepared a kernel source package for the orinoco driver from
upstream CVS. In upstream CVS [1], Moustafa Youssef scanning support has
been merged among other improvements.
You can find the package 'orinoco-cvs-module-src' at:

Unless you need CONFIG_MODVERSIONS for some reason, I suggest disabling
it.

Hi all,
Alsa seems to be correctly installed in my system but I don't still have
the sound. Here is the out put when I restart it with:

debian:/etc/init.d# /etc/init.d/alsa restart
Storing ALSA mixer settings ... done.

Greetings,
I was wondering if xfree86 ever got around including a keyboard map variant that
inverts the locations of keycodes 49 and 94? This kuldge is needed for several
3rd-party keyboards where these two keys are inverted, becuase of a bug in early
versions of the ALCOR keyboard controler chip

That semaphore locking is only used to guard open/close again

Ok, so I finally got a hand on the problems. A mix of bugs in
the driver, bugs in the HW, and bugs in the TTY layer ! pfiew.
This version of the driver no longer locks up on the G5 here
when doing funny things with the serial port. I also added
some (untested) laptop sleep code.
