The problem if your remove the Apple_Driver* partitions, is that
you won't ever be able to mount a partition on that disk in
MacOS 9 again (even booting from a M

IIRC, all you need (other than your linux partitions) is the small
Apple_Bootstrap partition. You should be able to get rid of the rest
of the "Apple_*" partitions
