mounting old ext2 - "does not exist"

Hi, How can I get the debian system to recognize an SuSE ppc ext2 partition? Adding a line to /etc/fstab doesn't seem to work: /dev/hdb8 /oldsuse ext2 defaults On a BWG3, have a partition table that looks like (ref, type): (misc apple partitions omitted) # hda has debian and macos installed

kernel compilation problems

i upgraded to testing, i got the new benh kernel.. 2.4.20..i try compiling it.. and i keep getting this error ide-cd.o error 1 ... tried everything..thanx a lot

dist-uprgrade

I just finished installing debian woody following branden's without any media install and proceeded to do edit /apt/sources.list edited to unstable and did apt-get update then dist-upgrade but i get this following message.. I know you guys probbably ecountered it and sorry for my newbieness.
