I've got a tape drive (OnStream Echo ADR drive) connected to an
AdvanSys SCSI card. The hard drive I have connected to the drive
works fine.
when I try to use the tape drive I get the error:
Logical unit not ready, initializing command required
Any ideas how to fix this?

Not sure what you mean by 'communicate', but this is what works to mount a
partition on my VST zip (1999 G3 powerbook)
mount /dev/hdc /zip (n=1 for DOS zips, n=4 for HFS ones)

I would guess pcmcic-cs was forced from unstable into testing, causing
the older pcmcia-modules dpeneding on the older pcmcia-cs to be
