strange hangup during install

i'm installing potato on a powermac 6400/180 with a tulip pci ethernet card, and can consistantly get it to crash as soon as i give it an ip. this works with dhcp or manual configuration. there's about a 2 second delay between seeing DHCPREQUEST on my log screen and the mac crashing. anyone else se

I ignored the network setup and now ppp works. Ethernet won't. (The (Binstallation manual says that to use ppp, don't configure the network. (BIntuitive!) Somehow I missed the profiles section, forcing me to install (Beverything by hand. I'll have to retry the whole install again. (B (BTaro
