You might be able to use static linking, but that's generally frowned upon on
Debian. Shipping the library along-side the application is also generally
frowned upon.

Recommends by default.
Depends: $mysql_pkg | $postgres_pkg | $other_pkgs
Recommends $mysql_pkg, $postgres_pkg, $other_pkgs
is ideal, I'd think.

Either that or your chroot is in a "nodev" mount point. Then
put executables
for a different system, you can specify the "target" [the system it's output
is built for].

ever, I am a bit surprised that you need to depend on both libdbd-pg-ruby
and postgresql-client. Shouldn't libpq5 (desciprion: PostgrSQL client
libraries), brought in as a dependency of libdbd-pg-ruby be enough of a
client? postgresql-client is only the front-end binaries.
't have time, I wonder if this is a good place for collab-maint to
step in?

Finally, there may be specific policy documents that apply to the package(s)
you are most interested in. For example, maintainers of java-related packages
should be familiar with the "Debian GNU/Linux and Java FAQ".
All of these documents a

be used as a noun phrase.
The first is clearly grammatically incorrect -- it can't be used unchanged in
any grammatically correct structure. The second is not a sentence, but it is
grammatically correct as it can be used unchanged in a grammatically correct
structu

In this case, it would also mean the preferred form for modification is the
inksca
for a release (at the least) or dropped
from the repositories and their archives.

, (ala PINE) the
copyright holder could have an odd view of a normally acceptable license.

not be considered useful for Debian users.

Sorry, if it wasn't clear. I was just joking.
