Try "dselect", it gives you a more detailed view of conflicts and the
packages around them.

e two packages should be able to coexist, if possible, at
least until alpine stops being an "alpha" product.
So, maybe hold off on replacing "pine" for now.

"never" to probably too strong; you may only need to wait until an app
which uses libvrb enters Debian or an app in Debian starts using it.

rib and non-free are the mechanisms Debian uses to make
such code available in spite of those handicaps.
Note: the ideology at play here is not one of separation, but rather
one of inclusion.

Two methods, one is not tenable:

Can dpkg/apt/etc. be tweaked to a
short term, I'm glad the precedent which would be
set by discarding a name/path with a long and useful history is seen
as worthy of argument.

I suppose other things being equal it'd make sense to give the older

I'm one of the developers on the Linux NFSv4 project, and am starting to
think about getting some of our userland support into Debian. See,
for example, libnfsidmap, available from

Anyone interested?

Does this upgrade require user intervention?

I suspect the dupload processor wants to see the .diff and .tar.gz files.
If necessary, you can upload the .diff to master and build the package
there, so that you don't have this hassle with your modem.
Thanks
