I am looking for someone who will help this

Just ask. Since there's already a maintainer they are either already a
Debian Developer with an account or they already have a sponsor for

If you wish to share maintainence then asking for a co-maintainer

some notes:
- be careful with the version you chose:
# dpkg --compare-versions 1.0pre '>' 1.0 && echo $?

Hi!
I want to work with java-gnome project, and for this reason I need to
install at least libatk 1.9.0 version (the current SID package: 1.8.0-4)
So I have downloaded the source:
ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/v2.6/atk-1.9.0.tar.bz2
And unpacked:
tar -xjf atk-1.9.0.tar.bz2
mv atk-1.9.0 libatk1.0-0-1

$ dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot
dpkg-buildpackage: source package is libvorbis
dpkg-buildpackage: source version is 1.1.0-2
