In fact the reports I've seen
(http://www.bisente.com/documentos/presario905/index.en.html ,
http://david.aragao.name/laptop/ ) suggest that this particular card is not
supported as yet. I am going to get this laptop in a couple of weeks and
then I'll see for myself.

Hi!
I am trying to get a 2.4 kernel running on my compaq presario 900z. So far
the only kernel I got running on this is 2.2 which comes with debian

I have 2.4.19 from debian (which does not have any pathces applied, I
believe) and it does have ACPI options (and I do not see any APCI) and it
also has some APIC options. Is that what you mean, or am I missing
something?

AFAIR this is a FAQ item. You may search lkml archive, but from what I
remember it means that VT is not compiled in and to have it compiled
in you need to select some othe roption (Input?) as well.
