Hi Guys
My sound card is my problem now ;-)
lspci gives to me :
- Multimedia audio controller: Yamaha
Corporation YMF-754 [DS-1E Audio
Controller]
- I tried run alsaconf.
- In alsaconf I selected my sound card
(0x37 YAMAHA_YMFXX), and pressed OK.
- "Card identifier : CARD_0" (then OK).
This has also happened to me on a Vaio GRT170. I've been putting off
trying to fix it until I get X working on kernel 2.6, but I'll be
following this discussion closely.

Thanks for the info Werner, unfortunately it doesn't seem to have
helped. I read somewhere else about making sure that all the settings in
Windows were turned off (set to never) so I will try that. I have some
other M700 questions though:
I am trying to get S1 working with ACPI and I can get it to
